Children's Day programmes


There is no age limit when it comes to playing with toys, or so it seems. And this is the theme of a fair being held at the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre on Saturday.


An exhibition will showcase toys from around the world, including state-of-the-art robots by engineering students from Chulalongkorn University. There will be demonstrations of puzzle games and yo-yos, and a chance to design and make toys. The Makhampom Theatre Group will stage a puppet show and there will be a booth to accept old toys and other items that you would like to share with underprivileged children.

The Bangkok Planetarium together with the History channel will host educational activities for children to discover the mysteries of the solar system and how some of the planets relate to Earth. There will also be a prehistoric world complete with dinosaurs.


This year's highlights include special screenings of Jurassic Fight Club: T-Rex Hunter, The Universe: The Milky Way and UFO Hunters: Abductions, all dubbed in Thai, in the auditorium of the planetarium's main building. Those who watch the shows will also have the opportunity to win special prizes, from fun quiz games. Tickets for adults will cost 20 baht, while admission is free for children.
